How Good is The M4 Rifle Path in MWII
11-22-2022
Almost a month has passed since the release of the latest Call of Duty installment, Modern Warfare II. In that time, I have found some old and new favorite weapons to use while climbing those prestige ranks. The sturdiest primary weapon available is still the M4.
Unlike previous titles in the Call of Duty franchise, MWII gives you the player another twist in how variations are unlocked. This all creates a better immersion experience by way of educating the player on receivers of the rifles and how new guns are created. By choosing this path you will first use the standard M4 receiver class aka the flagship. Described as a reliable workhorse that can handle just about any scenario. Next you will use the FTAC Recon receiver for the M4, transforming to a high powered .458 battle rifle, expect a lot of damage and chaos at medium range combat. Next up is the FSS Hurricane, this receiver variation with transform the M4 rifle into a SMG. Optimized for close quarter combat (CQB) the FSS Hurricane increases ammo capacity and stability all while sacrificing some range and stopping power. For a heavy set and players that want to lay down the enemy time with no time to spare the 556 ICARUS is the perfect choice. Basically, if you equip this lightweight squad support rifle with enough ammo it turns into a light machine gun (LMG). The final variation in the M4 class and my favorite comes equipped with the M16 receiver. That's 3-round burst for all. With increased range and stability, and optimization for mid and long-range engagements, it's no surprise as to why I have ranked up as quickly as I have in the past 3 weeks.
